Thirsty Nation Poem

We cannot quench our thirst with water

It was contaminated from the source

They did not care about the latter

Yet they knew it is our only resource

We are not secure anymore

Their stomachs are filled with hunger

Now they are asking for more

They do not care we are in danger

What we beg of you fails on deaf ears

You turn us down to kill the voice

So we can be on your toes for years

All our energy and sweat you sacrifice

Our hatred for you grows more than the pain

You cause making us prisoners bond to your chains

Our faith still remains intact

We cannot let go of what we believe in

Our animals are dying of hunger and lack of water

The Vegetation dried long time ago

We too wanna die before it gets worse

But we are endlessly waiting our savior might come

You have gone a step further

To rob the coming generations of their mother

By taking huge loans for them to pay

You have tied them to chains of bondage to stay

Impunity has become the order of the day

We are in the darkest hour of our days

The key to freedom is padlocked by your volt

We are now criminals in your eyes

We are making an antidote to your brutality

The water must be treated to quench the thirst

Out of tragedy and sorrow there is happiness

We will not abide by your rules anymore

We need peace, happiness, prosperity and equality forever more

It’s about time to hung up our grief dry

Talk intimate as we see them crush and die

Into the mess they created themselves

It’s time to count the stars ourselves

Together we stand divided we fall

Lets give each other a hand and bid farewell

To the chains of bondage

Its time to rebuild our image…
