The Voice of Change Poem

Heading to the free throw line for the winning shot

Are we gonna win or they will cut us short

Lets invest time giving

Voice to the voiceless and power to the powerless

 

Our ambitions will not be compromised

Neither will we be deceived

We are exceptionally gifted

So lets blend into the atmosphere

 

Your wealth is your time and freedom

Wealth is never destroyed

It is merely transferred

Where are we diverting our wealth to?

 

You cannot escape the responsibilities

Of tomorrow by evading it today

You hungry for making a difference

You wanna be a game changer

Then be sure to put your feet in the right place

Get out of that door and make a difference

 

We have an opportunity

To build a revolutionary machine

In your life you got to do great things

And now we got to do this right

So lets make it great

 

You and I are lucky to be here today

We won this fight together

We made it to the century

But Its not yet victory until its victory

 

I didn’t come here to recite a victory poem

Only a vision when we realize equity, justice

Equality rights for everyone

Then and only then will I recite a victory poem

 

This is a mandate for beginning

We don’t have to choose, moderate our values

Or even compromise our values

No matter how sober the landscape is

We are the crème de la crème

 

We don’t have to wait for change

We are the change we’ve been waiting for

Change is happening now

We need to restore our image

Bestow the values we are advocating for

 

I have a dream that we will rise up

That the content of our character and values

Will lead to the land of honey and milk

Prosperity and success will be at the helm

Then will I recite a victory poem
