My Pictures Made My Dreams Even Bigger

When I was a kid my aspirations were simple. I always wanted my beard to grow into a mustache even though I hadn’t even shown sighs of growing one. But nobody could stand me saying that. It sounded funny to them but it caused great pain to me and I felt like it broke my face. I also wanted to buy a professional camera and just take amazing photos. I love photography. I was an actual kid, loud and obnoxious. I used to make my classmates laugh and even teachers even though it landed me into trouble sometimes. I was funny and my friends used to stick around me to hear what new fake stories I had to tell to them. Sometimes I could make up a story like meeting a prominent person who bought me candy. Some fell for the lies but others just wont. The stories were too good to be true.

I hated sitting in the house watching TV. I always imagined myself sitting by the ocean under a coconut tree with a glass of juice and a book. Then I put on my swimming costume and go swimming, in the evening I wear my favorite sun glasses, a t-shirt and a short and walk along the beach breathing fresh air from the ocean. I always wondered why the ocean is blue but I later found out why. I have always wanted to live life to the fullest because for sure life is too short to be wasted, we got to make our dreams come true and do some crazy things before we say our last goodbye.

Traveling around the world has always been on top of my infamous bucket list. I was fed up with staying in a neighborhood that never sleeps. There was always some car horn blaring. I was also tired of the smell of weed one block away from our apartment. I was tired of that busy neighborhood and the noise from the music played in cars and phones and other people’s houses, horns, shouts, whistles, advertisements, laughs, chatter. I always wondered what it would be like to get away from it all.

I borrowed my Dad’s camera and went out for a walk around the neighborhood. I took pictures of almost everything that caught my eyes attention. Later that evening I went through the pictures and showed them to my friends and family and they loved them. Seeing how everyone was amazed by my pictures made my dreams even bigger. I badly wanted to get out and travel but that was the first step. Since then I have gone places but am not yet done. You are welcome to join me as we make this dream a reality with tours and travel to the moon and back.

Traveling just makes you a nice person. It relieves the pain and stress you have been going through. Traveling provides you with new experiences and memories, meeting new people from all over the world and making friends. The thing I like most about traveling is that it continuously forces me out of my comfort zone and builds my confidence even more. Getting out of my comfort zone has helped me grow in all dimensions of life.

Traveling increases our social circle and that means you get to meet new amazing friends who are more than willing to help and share moments with you. Then there is that learning aspect of it. You will never believe a Masai can jump unless you travel and meet one. You know social media has created an illusion in people’s minds that you can make over two thousand friends in a week. This makes people more desperate because the friends they meet there aren’t real. You can be liked by ten thousand people in Facebook but have no real life friend to buy you food when you are broke. Planting your face in your phone and checking Twitter, scrolling though your Facebook news feed, checking emails, posting your pictures on Instagram is just boring sometimes. You need some time off.
